When most tire manufacturers for example designs their products, they prescribe an undertread of rubber compound that is thick enough to allow high-quality regrooving without affecting the strength or durability of their product.

Contrary to popular thinking, a regrooved tire carried out in accordance with our recommendations, does not adversely affect the strength of the tread area or the tire casing. Regrooving actually gives new sharp edges and extra tread depth of about 6 to 8 mm, or about half that of a new tire. This gives you increased safety, higher mileage and lower fuel consumption.
